Smiles for Life

Dr. Nelson is committed in contributing to improving the quality of life of children and our community. Dr. Nelson is a proud participant of the Smiles for Life foundation, which has raised over $27 million since 1998, benefiting hundreds of children’s charities. From March to June every year, when you pay for teeth whitening, you’ll write your check directly to the Smiles For Life Foundation, not to our dental practice. Fifty percent of the donations are earmarked for our dental practice’s local charity partner, JDRF Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and the balance goes to the Smiles For Life Foundation to be distributed to worthy and approved children’s charities across the U.S. and Canada. Participating charities includes Children’s Miracle Network, Children of Romania, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, CURE (in Cambodia), Smiles For Hope, and the Kids Cancer Care Foundation. Dr. Nelson’s son was diagnosed with Juvenile Type 1 Diabetes in October 2007, he will be a lifelong supporter of the cause to find a cure.

Smile to a Cure

August 21st, 2010 is our Smile to a Cure Walk to Cure Diabetes at Wheeler Farm in Murray, Utah.  Please join us on Team Signature Smiles and help us walk for a cure.

Type 1, or juvenile, diabetes, is a devastating disease that affects millions of people - a large and growing percentage of them children. There is some good news, though. For the first time, scientists are predicting that we CAN expect to see a cure well within our lifetime! Now, more than ever, you can make a crucial difference. Won't you please give to JDRF as generously as possible? Together, we can make the cure a reality!
